How to pull off a million dollar look for under $100? Presenting the best stylish watches for men – the budget-ninja edition
I think most of us have realised that the era of showing off 18,000$+ costing Rolexes demonstrating status is over. Now it’s mainly for posers and wannabes, but wristwear and watches for men in particular, still provide valuable style points to a man’s general look. In this honest review we’re going to look at 7 different watches with the best price to quality ratio. We will keep a budget of under 100$ per item and we will take into consideration the following aspects: build, design, durability and cost.
For this comparison we have used different suppliers from different sites to filter out the best deals. We have some lesser known Chinese manufacturers competing against old American classics. Some smaller watches, some larger. Some fancier than others. This should definitely spare you a lot of time if your budget is under 100$ for a stylish watch (or possibly a gift to your husband).
Top budget watches for men comparison
Let’s start with the Stuhrling model, this is as you can see is a Rolex-inspired look, something between a Submariner and a GMT Master, but this is definitely a level higher looking than most Rolex lookalikes, like the Invicta which we will introduce later.
Stuhrling rocks a 4/5 star rating in Amazon from 855 users – which is not a bad result! Stuhrling watches in general feature a strong mechanism and are pretty durable, this specific model is a steal for it’s price, but these can easily be found in the mid ranges.
This is a “fancy” watch and will look better in a suited up office worker or a businessman. We can’t complain about the build quality, but the Stuhrling doesn’t rock as many features as some of the watches in the modern market. That being said, no man will be embarrassed wearing this quality watch.
This watch has the old school feel to it, but it’s definitely not out of style – watch like this can earn you respect from older peers instead of flashing around bling-bling all the darn time. We have a 4/5 star rating on Amazon from 27 reviewers and nothing negative really jumps out of it.
It’s packed with features such as chronograph, date window and three subdials. The best part? The band is genuine leather and by ordering this specific model you get a free nylon strap, too. Perfect for everyday wear.
This Guanqin model is rather unknown for the western world, but this is actually one of the more reputable Chinese brands. It doesn’t have excellent Swizz mechanism or durability to last for centuries, but one this is for sure: it looks stunning! This is a true eye catcher if you like to get attention.
It’s just under $50 so it also makes a perfect present idea. It boasts a 4.9/5 rating from 26 reviewers. Guanqin believes they can keep their watches high quality, good looking and modestly priced due to not spending money on marketing or any middle men.
Chinese watches have been a mockery for too long, but not anymore.
The Angela Bos style is another unknown for most of the people, but is also an extremely beautiful looking watch! It’s a Chinese watch, but lo’ and behold: it boasts 4.8/5 rating from 733 users! This piece is not meant to be a sports watch, but it’s pretty multifunctional as it fits office clothes, fancier events and you could pull it off in everyday wear also. Absolutely gorgeous watch! If you want to stand out from other men, then this is your choice! Also extremely good price-to-quality ratio! The only down-side is that the logo on the dial “BOS” which means it’s easy to get messed up with another, more known, designer brand.
The band came off, the dial was shaky and all in all it was a mess. I can not recommend this watch, but it’s hard to hate it considering I got it for just 5$, that’s right, this i the cheapest watch on the list and it looks solid, but unfortunately you get what you pay for. Order with caution, but might come handy for small presents or one-time usage in special events.
I’ve been wearing this one for 2 months without a problem and could recommend to anybody who’s looking to start experimenting with Chinese brands. It also comes with an affordable price of under $20.
It looks good, it feels good, it’s built good and it shows time. What more do you need?
Invicta watches for men are one of the better known brands on this list, but unfortunately not in the good light. Invicta famous for butchering the Rolex style, but doesn’t quite do the job to be a 100% replica. It’s basically a poor man’s Rolex, a little bit shakier and with a little bit more color.
But it’s not all bad, it’s still a nice watch and it has infinite selection of different colors to match your outfit, so you can combine it with your other accessories such as belts or shoes.
This is a perfect watch for a teenager or somebody who has never owned a watch.
Final Conclusion For Budget Wrist Wear
All in all, we’re living a fascinating time as we’re moving away from pure materialism and are looking to expand into more innovative fashion. Watches have been following the same trend and it’s becoming quite the hobby for some people. Please note that this review is meant for budget watches and will not guarantee you respect in the elitist watch-collectors community. Please leave comments below on which watch you liked best and what’s your general idea of Chinese watches.
How much should I pay for a watch?
To be completely honest there is no correct answer to that. This list is for the budget deal seekers, but if you feel you could already move a level higher, say to $500-$1000 range I’d start definitely looking towards Seikos and Omegas.
There are so many watches under a hundred dollars but quite honestly you can’t go wrong with Citizen, Timex and lower end Seikos – they are made to last.
